A Retention Support System

A Retention Support System

Better known as the CityBuild Retention Program. A&AF have been providing retention services to CityBuild graduates since 2006, with the ever growing population of CityBuild graduates, Construction Career Development Services (CCDS) was establish in 2013. A&AF is happy to be a part of this program to have much needed funding to provide for the graduates.

The Office of Economic and Workforce Development (OEWD) has funded Anders and Anders Foundation (A&AF), Charity Cultural Services Center (CCSC), and Young Community Developers (YCD). The main goal of CCDS is to re-engage CityBuild Academy graduates through connecting with CityBuild Employment Liaisons and CCDS partners in order to provide post training assistance after working in the construction field. CCDS assists graduates in further developing their career paths and provides mentorships to help them identify steps for advancing their construction career.

Our Success In Action

Our Success In Action

International news Al Jazeera did segment on our Citybuild program highlights our Citybuild women in construction. Today Shane Bell is still in the trades for Local 8 Elevator constructors and Lynna Vong had become a Journey woman in the Carpenter's union. I want to group up all of our old videos that highlight our Citybuild family and add it here to build up a video archive. We have gone far this past 31 cycles and we will continue to grow as our family continues to build our great city!

One of our top graduate Alex Montano now working for Local 16 Heat and Frost Insulators Union talks about his experience with the CityBuild program and how he overcome his adversity and got through the program. Now proudly to say, he climb out and set a great example to many who think they cannot break out of the cycle of recidivism. Through Education, patients, and love for one another we can break through any challenges.

One of our proudest young man Pablo Castro got into the Sprinkler Fitter Union UA Local 483. He got to work at the Chase Center and also got to share his experience on how he got there from his humble beginning from CityBuild Academy. We are very proud of his achievements and we also got to watch him grow up from a young man to started his family and becoming a productive building tradesman in our community and in our City.
